ATCA 40G & 10G Switches

Many ATCA based network element platforms -- whether they are for Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), providing mobile network services (such as a femto gateway), or hosting media services, etc -- will often utilize a pool of identical servers to process the divided up workload.

Radisys offers two types of solutions for providing the load balancing function in an ATCA chassis. The first, ‘wirespeed’ load balancing resides on the ATCA chassis’ internal switch/hub. The second provides an intelligent adaptable load balancing solution using a s/w technology called ‘FlowEngine’ which is designed to run upon Radisys’ family of both Broadcom- and Cavium-based packet processing blades.
